Spiritual Direction Ministry: Spiritual Direction Ministry
Spiritual Direction is an art used to accompany individuals on a spiritual journey. It is the process of sharing one's sacred stories with a trained, compassionate listener. The individual also spends time reflecting on how God is speaking through these events and circumstances. The Holy Spirit is always present and is guiding the session. Whatever is said is strictly confidential. Spiritual direction is not a class nor is it a therapy. A spiritual director is trained in an intensive 3 year program to be a compassionate listener, to listen deeply, and act as a companion on another's spiritual journey. Jane Dietzman, a parishioner in our cluster has completed the Spiritual Direction Preparation Program at the Franciscan Spirituality Center in LaCrosse, Wisconsin and is offering in-person sessions in her home or another mutually acceptable place (May through December). Jane will facilitate centering prayer individual sessions or other spontaneous prayer as requested.
